I was in Denver recently for some training for my real job, and decided to extend my stay for a few days. My wife Lisa and her Mother Beryl flew down and joined me. We traveled to Colorado Springs to check out the area. It is a beautiful town with lots of shops and places to visit. We rode the Cog railway to the top of Pikes Peak. Sadly, at the top on the day we were there, the view was blocked by the approaching winter storm that hit that night. We woke to 6 inches of fresh snow! While the elevation of the area is enough to help, this was a bit unusual for the time of year. The new morning provided a fantastic scene at Garden of the Gods park. I had been in the park the day before, taking shots, but this was special. This was taken at about 6:15 in the morning, and the cloud cover was solid except for this little slice of color. For some other views, check out the Garden of the Gods gallery: Garden . We really enjoyed our time there and plan to return in the fall for some fall colors shots.
